US job openings on the radar later today as Dow Jones leads US stocks to a higher close

The three main US stock market indexes all closed higher yesterday and it was the Dow Jones that led the gains. The index closed 0.65% higher which compared to a 0.27% gain in the S+P 500 and no gain whatsoever in the Nasdaq 100. There will be more to add on the Nasdaq 100 in a later update. The Dow Jones put on 273 points, to close at 42,387. There are a number of US economic releases due later today and the most important of these is likely to be the latest JOLTS-Job openings report covering September. That data is expected to show a slightly lower number from the 8.04 million reported in August. Analysts expect 8 million last month. There will be more to add on that later today. Meantime, the Dow Jones futures are not yet making much in the way of progress right now, currently pricing the opening at around 42,400
