US futures extend gains as Europe rebounds- check out the S+P 500
The US equity futures are making further progress just now and those gains come as the European markets rebound from earlier lows. That has seen the CAC and DAX both lift and the FTSE 100 is now approaching 8,200. The S+P 500 futures were pricing an opening start to 2025 below 5,900 much earlier today, during the Asian session. Right now the index is priced to open closer to 5,940, bearing in mind it had been dragged lower into the yearly close on Tuesday evening. The S+P 500 closed out 2024, at 5,881.63, with a loss of 25.31 points on the day. It is just now priced to reopen around 5,939
