US futures off best levels heading towards the opening- check out the Nasdaq 100

The US equity futures are off their best levels of the European session as the US opening draws closer. The dollar is a little firmer, particularly versus the Euro. Earlier the Nasdaq 100 was pricing the opening at above 19,900. The index closed last night at 19,800, with a loss of 234 points on the day, making it the worst performing major US index on the day. The index is priced to open higher today but at no stage since the US close last night has that opening indication gotten close to the 20k level again. The index had topped out yesterday at 19,990. The low point seen yesterday was set at 19,763 and so we have pretty clear lines of demarcation for live trading today (19,763 and 19,990). Hence it would be reasonable to assume any move beyond those two noted levels could offer an extension. As to which way that will be remains to be seen. In truth, directionally right here it is not easy to call. All that can be said; is to remind the reader of just where the index currently stands in the grand scheme of things- much closer to the top than the bottom. The Nasdaq 100 is currently priced to reopen 19,870
