US data releases and Fed speakers on the calendar for the Dow Jones later today

The Dow Jones was the best performing major US stock market index yesterday, but that did not avert a lower close. The index ended the day just 45 points lower, at 37,753. However, that close was quite some way above the earlier lows of the day, at 37,611. The Dow futures are still holding gains this morning after the first hour of live European trade. There are some relatively important US data releases due later on. At 12.30pm GMT we get the latest weekly jobless claims numbers and the April Philadelphia Fed index. There are also a couple more Fed speakers talking shortly after that. They are both voters on the FOMC and one is a Hawk (Bowman) and the other is neutral (Williams). So, it might be worth watching, to see if they have anything to add, between 1pm GMT and 1.15pm GMT. The Dow Jones futures are currently pricing the reopening at around 37,820
