US data on the agenda for the Dow Jones futures later today

The Dow Jones was the best performing major US stock market index yesterday. In fact, it was the only one to make any progress. The Dow closed 139 points higher, at 43,408. That close was also towards the top end of the range seen (43,074-43,465). The potential re-opening for Dow Jones, as priced by the futures has traded a range so far today covered by 43,250 to 43,475. The current indication is still in the red, but in relative terms to some of the swings in the S+P and Nasdaq, it has been pretty stable really. Now ahead of the opening today the US economic release calendar is pretty light, with just two reports of any note due out at 1.30pm GMT- the latest weekly jobless claims and Philadelphia Fed business index (expected around 8 from 10.3 previously). Both these reports might have impact later. We shall on that. Meantime, the Dow Jones is right now priced to reopen at around 43,350
