Not long ago this morning the DAX reopened at 18,751. The index had closed heavily in the red on Friday, as noted earlier. The DAX had closed on Friday at 20,641. This almost 2000 point lower opening is almost unprecedented in terms of anything seen before. It also means the index opening in Bear market territory. The initial moves saw it slide even further, falling to a low at 18,489. However, since then it has bounced almost 1000 points from that low. It might recover further and under the present circumstances in truth 300-400 points is really of no consequence. The only question from here today; will the current bounce be sustained or extended, before another wave of sellers step in? We shall have to see on that as the morning unfolds. The DAX is right now at 19,360
