University of Michigan consumer sentiment index revised higher-USD/JPY initially falls

The final revision to the University of Michigan consumer sentiment index has seen it revised higher, from an initial reading of 69.3, to 70.1. A slight upward revision to consumer inflation exactions has been seen too, but that has not immediately helped the dollar. In fact as the data hit the screens the USD/JPY dropped to set a new session low at 142.40. That is a little odd, but given all that has happened today, perhaps not that surprising. Besides the dollar is just now edging off that fresh session low, currently trading at 142.52
