United health beat was not so great but its charging the Dow Jones to yet more records

Earlier today the earnings from MS and BOA were in focus here, but we also had the same Q2 results from the largest stock component of the Dow Jones- United Health (UNH). Now that report was slightly above forecasts, but not massively so and that is why there was little attention paid to it here in reports. Well, perhaps there should have been, because the stock is now on a tear and leading the gains for the Dow Jones in the first 30 minutes of live trading. That has produced yet another record for the Dow Jones too, since the early update here, just after the opening. The Dow Jones has now lifted to yet another new record high a second ago, at 40,581 and it is charging higher and once again the contrast between that and the major stock markets here in Europe is even more stark than it was at the point of the previous update. The Dow Jones is just now trading at 40,555
