Is Tump playing the fool or just playing the markets? Dow Jones futures eyeing yet more gains

Before we get to the crux of this update let it be stated; that no one is being accused of anything and this is just a conscientious observers take on what has played out over the past 2-3 weeks. Look, if you knew what Trump was going to say, or do next you could have made some serious money on occasion over that period. The last such opportunity was just last night, when the dollar shot higher after Trump backed down on Powell. To be honest the dollar was already spuriously rising ahead of that comment and of course it rose even more afterwards. The thing is Trump is being made to look foolish by all his tough talk, rhetoric and subsequent climb downs. To be honest it is getting rather ridiculous, but is it? Perhaps we shall never know, but whilst his efforts have derailed the stock markets and the currency, each time he back peddles they both recover, but not yet to a point beyond a short term spike. Maybe the worst is over the US stock markets now, but in truth that seems unlikely and with a loose cannon in charge who can truly say it is? Earlier today the Dow Jones was pricing a reopening above 40k. The index rebounded over 1000 points by the close last night, ending the session, 1016 points higher, at 39,186. The way the futures price is right now, it could easily put on another 1000 points today, but we shall have to see on that. The Dow Jones is right now priced to reopen around 39,935
