This time the Dow Jones matches Nasdaq 100 advance as US stocks rise again
Yesterday the major US stock market indexes all posted similarly percentage gains by the close. The Nasdaq 100 and S+P 500 were the best performer, but more on those a little later. Yesterday the Dow Jones joined in on what was a broad based rally for US stocks. The index exactly matched gains on the day for the Nasdaq 100, when it closed 1.09% higher, where the S+P 500 gained 1.02%. The Dow closed 429 points higher, at 39,721, which was very close to the high of the day, at 39,736. Overnight the gains in the US have lifted Asian stock markets and it is a sea of green out there today, led by gains in China and Hong kong. However, right now the Dow Jones futures are not higher, as the index consolidates the gains posted yesterday and ahead of the important US CPI later today.
