Tesla helps Nasdaq 100 come out on top again

Yesterday it was another day of contrasts come the US closing bell. Once again the Nasdaq 100 rose, where the Dow Jones fell. The rotation into tech was clear to see and the 21.92% gain in Tesla (TSLA) following their Q3 results the night before ensured the Nasdaq 100 held its gains into the close. The index ended the session 165 points higher, at 20,232. On the other hand  the Dow Jones was pushed lower, not least by a more than 5% fall in Honeywell following their revenue miss (reported here at the time). So, perversely it was actually a tech name that helped to push the Dow Jones lower, but more on that index later. So, overnight the Asian markets are mixed, with losses in Japan contrasted by gains in China. The Nasdaq 100 futures are just about in positive territory right now, where the European opening outlook is not so positive, as the Dow futures hold slightly in the red
