Strikes announced at VW not denting DAX futures much yet as opening looms
The German IG METALL union has just announced a strike at the beleaguered German auto marker, VW. That is probably not that much of a surprise, but it is certainly another set back for VW. Incidentally, VW trades at just 3x forward earnings which is amazing, when you consider Tesla for example, is at more than 100 times forward earnings. Crazy right? Well that just tells you how beaten up VW has been of late. The DAX futures are not reflecting that this morning though, just ahead of the opening shortly. Perhaps they should? The index closed 163 points higher yesterday, at 19,425. It will reopen in a few minutes and right now that opening call is around 19,405
