Stock market records everywhere you looks- what chance another for the FTSE 100 today?

As the US and European stock markets set fresh all time highs almost everywhere you look, it is worth noting the FTSE 100 set a new one of those yesterday. The FTSE 100 reached 8,474.41, but it was unable to hold all of that into the close. The FTSE 100 ended the session at 8,445.80. The FTSE 100 futures did struggle for traction yesterday evening, even as the US stock markets went gangbusters. At one stage the index was priced to reopen close to 8,400 this morning, but the outlook is more positive now and currently it is set to resume live trading, pretty much where it closed yesterday. However, and notwithstanding the current record run, there have been some negative reports across the wider media, on the outlook for the London stock exchange. According to those reports, more and more UK companies are set to exit the London market and seek listings in the US. That is a concern, if it does materialise in due course, but right now it seems the trend higher is very much intact and investors are still looking for further upside. As stated here yesterday, that 8,500 level looks like the next nice round number to aim at today
