As expected the US stock markets opened higher today and in the case of the S+P 500, it was a record opening. The index resumed live trade at 5,762.22 and then rose to a new all time record high, at 5,767.37, but it has stepped back from that high now. The same can be said of the Nasdaq 100 today, as that led the way for the S+P in the first place. The dollar is now higher again following the US data this afternoon and that seems to be acting as a drag on the US stock markets. The S+P 500 is currently trading at 5,754
