S+P 500 slightly in the green as US opening draws closer

The S+P 500 narrowly avoided a really technically negative close yesterday, but it is did replicate what we saw unfold in the Dow Jones, with an outside day reversal, but not quite from an all time record high. A little earlier this afternoon the Q3 earnings from the US banking outfit, Morgan Stanley beat the street on both the top and the bottom line, replicating what we saw from GS and Citigroup yesterday. That beat might have helped to lift the S+P futures, but at this stage not markedly so. The index closed 44 points lower yesterday, at 5,815.26 and earlier today it was priced to reopen close to the 5,800 handle. It is just now pricing the opening around 5,821
