S+P 500 sets a new all time high but only just

Yesterday the S+P 500 managed to force its way to a new all time high, but only by the smallest of margins. The previous record at 6,099.97 was beaten by less than 1 point, when the index reached a new record, at 6,100.81. The lack of any extension sent it back towards the close, where it later ended the session at 6,086.37. That was not a record close either. Overnight the Asian markets are mostly higher, once again led by gains in the Nikkei 225. However, the S+P futures are pricing a lower opening for later on just now. The S+P is right now priced to reopen around 6,079
