S+P 500 rises to set new all time high

Yesterday the Nasdaq 100 was not the only US index breaking records, because the S+P 500 also powered to its highest ever level. The index set a new all time high at 5,354.16 and it closed right on that high too (5,354.03). The best performing stock in percentage terms within the index yesterday was a Hewlett Packard (HP) following their blow-out Q2 results. Overnight the S+P 500 futures have held all of those gains notched up yesterday and right now the index is priced to open at a new record, currently at around 5,357.
