S+P 500 hits record above 5,800 after Michigan sentiment index falls below forecasts

The latest US University of Michigan consumer sentiment index was released a short while ago and it was below the consensus, not by much but enough to push bonds higher again and underpin US equity markets even more. So, the Dow Jones has now risen to above 42,725 and the S+P 500 has traded above 5,800. Hence, both indexes are setting fresh all time highs this afternoon. The S+P 500 has now traded above 5,810 and so the drive to set a new all time weekly close above 5,800 looks to be on the cards. This might change, but for now the hot money flow is chasing these US stock markets again, to records as the weekend looms. The S+P 500 is just now trading at 5,811
