S+P 500 futures steady near lows as slew of Bank earnings await
Fairly soon today the US earnings season will get more fully underway, with a whole batch of US banks reporting their Q1 results. The first is Bank of New York Mellon (BK), at 10.40 am GMT. Also out then is PNC Financial services. At 10.45 we get Bank of America Corp (BAC). At 11.10 GMT comes Northern Trust. Finally, at 11.30 GMT we get results from Morgan Stanley (MS). All of these stocks are quoted in the S+P 500 and hence the focus here on that index in this update. Ahead of that lot the S+P 500 futures are still close to session lows, even as the Dow Jones futures rise a bit more. The S+P 500 is currently priced to reopen below 5,050 later today
