S+P 500 futures rebound as US said to start trade talks with China

Very early this morning, at the start of the Asian session the US futures were indicating an opening below 5,590 for later today. The index had closed last night lower by 43.47 points, at 5,606.91. Then news broke over the wires, that the US Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent was to meet with Chinese officials in Switzerland over the weekend to start talks on trade. This news saw the dollar and US stock futures jump higher. The S+P futures rose steeply and at one point they were pricing the reopening for today close to 5,670. They have tempered that move since then, but remain elevated relative to the close last night. The index is currently priced to reopen around 5,639
