S+P 500 futures price a much less certain opening

The US stock markets were not open yesterday, but had they been so, then it would surely have been a higher close for all three major indexes. The S+P 500 index previously closed last Friday, at 5,996.66. At one point yesterday afternoon the index was priced to reopen around 6,040. Well, it is not priced up there right now today. In fact, earlier this morning, following the contrary comments from Trump regarding trade tariffs, the S+P futures took a hit, pricing that opening close to 5,960. They have rebounded from that earlier session low now, but the outlook for the opening is far from certain. There is very little in the way of important US economic data due out today and for the rest of the week. The focus will of course be very much on Trump and whatever fresh headlines he delivers, in addition on the growing number of Q4, 2024 earnings reports, as they emerge this week.
