At 2pm GMT the Fed boss, Jerome Powell is due to give his second day of testimony in front of the Senate Banking Committee. Ahead of this Powell has already released an identical set of prepared text to that which he submitted yesterday. So, the markets seem to have concluded ; that there will be nothing much new to come from him this afternoon. Well, that could be the case, but it might also be wise to keep an open mind on that prospect. However, right now the prospect of nothing new from Powell is helping to propel US stock futures into the opening. That really applies to the Nasdaq 100 and more immediately to the S+P 500 futures. They are now pricing a reopening at above 5,590. The new all time record high set yesterday was at 5,590.75 and just now the index could reopen above that level shortly, when live trading resumes
