S+P 500 futures in the green now today

The S+P 500 was the best performing major US stock market by the close last night, but only just and it still posted a lower close on the day. The index handed back 0.29% when it closed 14.83 points lower, at 5,150.48. However, earlier in the day it had traded to a low at 5,123.30 and there were no fresh records for the index yesterday, as it peaked at 5,176.85. Earlier today the index was pricing a lower opening, but right now that is not the case. There are some US data releases due out later, which might impact that opening too. We have New York Fed index (Empire)- expected to weaken to -7 from -2.4 at 12.30pm GMT and then later at 2pm GMT the University of Michigan consumer confidence index. In between those two, at 1.15pm GMT we get the latest US industrial production data, but those last two come after the S+P reopens. Right now that reopening is priced at around 5,162
