S+P 500 futures on the drift lower so far today

The US stock markets were open for business yesterday. The markets initially pushed higher and that saw gains across the board. The S+P 500 had already reclaimed the 6k handle on Christmas Eve and it built on what was a positive close, at 6,040.04. The index rose recovered an early session dip towards 6k, to a session high at 6,049.75. However, it was not able to hold that further rise and later closed just 2.45 points lower, at 6,037.59. The price action in the futures so far today has come in contrast to gains seen in Asia earlier, where the Nikkei reclaimed that coveted 40k handle. So, right now the S+P 500 futures are pricing an opening for later on, not much above the lows seen yesterday (6,007.37). There are a couple of US economic releases due later on, but nothing of any real note. The S+P 500 futures are currently pricing the opening around 6,013
