A reminder about Quick News updates this week and next- Nasdaq 100 in focus here

As mentioned here last week, this analyst will be absent from 1pm GMT tomorrow. The planned return is March 6. In between now and then there are a couple of important data/earnings releases for you to note. As far as Q4 2024 earnings go, that concerns the results from NVIDIA and it does not get any more important than that, when it comes to any potential impact on the US markets. Of course this could impact all three major indexes (NVDA ranked no 2 by market cap on the S+P 500 and the Nasdaq 100). NVDA now has a market cap around $3.25 trillion. Their results are due to be released at 9.20pm GMT on Wednesday. The markets expect a Q4 EPS of $0.83 on earnings of $37.61 billion. As is often the case, the outlook report from NVDA might be just as important for the share price as the earnings, when it comes to any market reaction to the data. Earlier that day we also get the earnings from Home Depot (ranked no 4 in the Dow Jones), at 11am GMT. Friday we get the very important January PCE report, at 1.30pm GMT. Next week sees the latest ADP payroll report and US ISM manufacturing and services indexes- please refer to your economic release calendar for more details on those. The reader is also reminded; that Friday this week is the last trading day of the month. The monthly US jobs report will be released on Friday March 7 and this analyst will be back to cover that. So, the Nasdaq 100 is very much in focus on Wednesday evening after the close. The index closed on Friday at 21,614. It it just now priced to reopen around 21,690
