A record close for the US stock markets- Dow Jones takes a step closer to 40k
In an update here yesterday the prospect of the Dow Jones making it to 40k was noted here. Well, in the event it did not quite get that far. The index topped out at 39,935, once it surpassed the previous record high at 39,899. The Dow later closed at 39,908 and of course that was a new all time record close for the index. The futures price action since then has seen the price rise close to that 40k level during the Asian session earlier today. The highest reopening indication was set around 39,985. It is off that high now ahead of the European opening, currently pricing a resumption of live trading at around 39,935, but make no mistake 40k is very much on the radar later today
