One hour in and European stocks step back- check out the FTSE 100
The European equity market have been open for around one hour now and in that time we have seen the DAX push higher and set a new all time high, at 22,933. It has stepped back from that record now though and the likes of the FTSE 100 and the CAC 40 never enjoyed such success from the opening. Indeed both have been under pressure from the get go. The FTSE 100 has fallen into the red and so has the CAC. The UK inflation data has clearly provided another headwind this morning and the relative elevation in the GBP/USD is probably not helping much either. The miss on the Glencore earnings have also weighed on the index. The FTSE 100 closed last night at 8,766. It is trading right now at 8,738
