Oil slides on prospect of Trump win-check out Brent crude right now

Amongst a whole host of reactions to the increasing likelihood of Trump winning the White House and the Senate and Congress, oil prices have fallen back sharply so far today. Trump is avowed to keep pumping and driving US shale production even higher and many analysts are now looking towards a move towards $50 per barrel oil. Yesterday afternoon January Brent crude rose above $76 per barrel. The high seen was set at $76.24. It did drop back into the NYMEX settlement though and settled $0.45 higher on that exchange, at $75.53. However, it is a different vista this morning as Brent slides below $74. The low seen a little earlier was set around $73.65. It has bounced off that low just now, but that might be nothing more than an interim rebound. We shall see on that. Brent for January delivery is currently trading $74.40
