The Paris Olympic games are now over and any reprieve the French stock markets might have gotten from that successful event might be put to the test again this week. The CAC 40 fell to a low at 7,029 this time last week. The rebound that followed was not exactly of its own making and owed much to what was going on around it. Irrespective of that, the CAC rebounded back above 7,300 on Friday (7,319 the high) and later closed 22 points higher, at 7,269. The outlook for the opening today is pretty benign right now, but as the week progresses we might find out, if the markets start to re-focus on all the reasons why the CAC 40 fell back in the first place. The index is currently priced to reopen a little higher this morning though, just now at around 7,300
