No new records yet for the Dow Jones as the S+P 500 holds gains ahead of the Fed minutes tonight

The US data releases earlier this afternoon were rather mixed, but on balance generally positive and that has helped the dollar to recover its earlier downside. The modest rebound in US yields this afternoon has also helped the US currency. That recovery has seen the EUR/USD fall back from an earlier (noted) high, at 1.0545, to a low at 1.0464. The USD/JPY has rebounded too and recovered an earlier fall to 152.99. It has since pushed back to just above 153.70. Meantime, over in the US stock markets, the Dow Jones did not do as priced by the futures earlier today. The index actually opened lower, at 44,614. It has traded down to 44,426 since, but it is on the rebound right now. At the same time the S+P 500 has outperformed the Dow today and it is currently on session highs, approaching 6,010. The Dow Jones is currently on session highs too though, as the Fed minutes await at 7pm. There will be more to add just ahead of that and afterwards, if there are any major surprises. The Dow Jones is right now at 44,615
