No holding back Dow Jones futures yet today as a record opening looms
It will not be long now until the US stock markets reopen for live trade. Ahead of that the US stock futures are still in an ebullient mood and none more so than the Dow Jones. The Dow set an all time record close last night at 17,090. The futures have just now hit a session high, indicating it will reopen at close to, or just above 37,300. So, if that happens it will be a record opening of course, but then just like the DAX earlier today, it will create an opening gap to the record high seen yesterday, at 37,094. The futures seem to be garnering further traction based on the solid US sales and claims data released a little earlier this afternoon.
