Next comes the ECB as EUR/USD holds around session highs

Following the hawkish hold from the Bank of England a short while ago, the next major event of the day will be the ECB monetary policy decision. That is due at 1.15pm GMT and just like the BOE, the ECB is expected to leave all its key benchmark rates on hold. Any other outcome will deliver a major surprise for the markets in general and the Euro in particular. In advance of this, the EUR/USD is camped close to session just now, as the pound ponders, whether or not to take out the current interim high, at 1.2733, reached on November 28. The high seen so far has been set at 1.2715. Meanwhile, the EUR/USD is not backing off much at the moment, but there is plenty of time for a pre-ECB price wobble of course. The high set a short while ago was at 1.0940. It is just now trading at 1.0933
