Netflix and Apple help to lift Nasdaq 100 futures this morning

Yesterday the Nasdaq 100 was unable to make much progress. The index closed just 16 points higher, at 20,190. However, just after the closing bell the Q3 results from Netflix came in markedly better than forecast on a number of fronts- increased profits and subscriber base and an improved Q4 outlook too. Q3 was also its most profitable 3 month period ever. So, shares in Netflix are currently higher by around 5.5% in the grey market today and that has helped to boost the opening outlook for the Nasdaq 100 this afternoon. Netflix is ranked no 11 in the Nasdaq 100. Apple shares are higher in the grey market this morning too and that stock has been helped by better than forecast sales of the iPhone 16 in China. Hence, the Nasdaq 100 futures are now pricing a higher opening. That has been priced above 20,300 at one point. It is currently set to open at around 20,265
