Nasdaq 100 underperforms as tech sector takes a breather

The rotation between the US cyclical stock sector and the tech sector, which was noted here on the opening yesterday afternoon, extended as the session unfolded and that later led to a divergent close. That is to say the Dow Jones closed higher and the Nasdaq 100 closed lower. However, the index did manage to recover from a low at 17,475, to later close just 40 points lower, at 17,572, Overnight the Asian markets are mixed and the Chinese markets, where higher have not enjoyed the large gains seen yesterday. So, the Nasdaq 100 futures are have traded mostly sideways, but right now pared earlier modest gains, currently pricing a generally unchanged opening for later today
