Nasdaq 100 underperforms in early trade and close but no cigar yet for the Dow Jones

The Dow Jones reopened today at 41,200 and has risen to a cash price high so far at 41,347. So, as you can see, the index is really close to setting a new record high (above 41,376) this afternoon. The price action is fast and furious though and it would be wrong to rule out a new high today. Meantime, the Nasdaq 100 has been struggling to keep pace with the Dow again and has lagged in the first 15 minutes of live trading to make any progress beyond where it closed on Friday, at 19,720. The index actually reopened lower today, at 19,679 and has reached a high so far at 19,726. So, as you can see, there appears to be a degree of rotation in favour of the Dow right now, but of course that might change as the session develops. The Nasdaq 100 is currently trading at 19,677
