Nasdaq 100 reopens at a new record and lifts above 20,950

The US stock markets have just reopened and that opening has delivered a record opening level across all three major indexes. The S+P 500 has kicked off, at or above 5,950 and the Nasdaq 100 has risen above 20,900 on the opening. The record opening for the S+P index obviously brings the 3k mark into vista today. That must be on the radar for the markets right now and the slight fall across the US treasury yield curve is also supporting these record opening moves this afternoon, as is the prospect of a Fed rate cut this evening. Quick News will be on hand to cover that event this evening and potentially afterwards, when the Fed Boss, Jerome Powell debriefs the press, at 7.30pm GMT. The Nasdaq 100 opened today at 20,896, from a close last night at 20,781. It has just set a new all time intraday high so far, at 20,964. It is currently trading at 20,960
