Nasdaq 100 in the record books again

There was no holding back the tech sector and the Nasdaq 100 on Friday. The index was unsurprisingly lifted and led higher, by an almost 4% gain in the price of NVIDIA. So, the Nasdaq rose to set a new all time record high, at 18,333, before later closing 259 points higher, at 18,302. That 1.44% rise on the session ensured another record daily and weekly close. The gains in Asia today, particularly in the Nikkei 225, have helped to keep the Nasdaq 100 futures close to record levels and currently price a reopening at around 18,315, despite another very tepid session for mainland Chinese and Hong Kong stocks.
