Nasdaq 100 rebounds off the lows but avoids a higher close- futures higher this morning

Yesterday the US stock markets recovered from their early session lows and that delivered higher closes for the Dow Jones and the S+P 500. The Dow was the standout performer from the very start of the session and remained that way until the end of the day. However, the tech sector and the Nasdaq 100 did not manage the same. It did rebound from a low at 20,538, reaching 20,797, but it was unable to make headway by the closing bell. The index ended the day 62 points lower, at 20,784. Overnight the Japanese markets have reopened, but despite sizeable gains across the Chinese markets today, there has been no such rebound in Japan. The Nasdaq 100 futures are higher right now though and currently indicating a resumption of live trade at around 20,890
