Nasdaq 100 opens higher but will it last?

As you surely know, the Nasdaq 100 fell back to post a technically negative close on Friday, as covered in an update here this morning. Well, it has just now reopened and it has just kicked off the new month with a slightly higher opening, at 19,720. The index closed on Friday at 19,682. The high seen immediately after the opening was set at 19.741, but it has backed off slightly now, as we await the revision to Global PMI data shortly (at 1.45pm GMT) and then the more important ISM manufacturing index, at 2pm GMT. Hence, it will be interesting to see, once both those are out of the way, if the index can snap that negative close on Friday and set a positive start to the new month by the close this evening. That is very much in the balance right now. The Nasdaq 100 is currently trading at 19,720
