Nasdaq 100 leads US stocks home with a daily close above 16k

It was positive start to the week for the US stock markets into the close last night and one where big tech once again led the way. The Nasdaq 100 lifted above a milestone and set a daily close above 16,000, ending the session at 16,027, with a gain of 1.19%. Milestones were surpassed elsewhere in the US equity markets yesterday, but more on that in an update to follow. The gains in the US stock markets into the close were also fanned by the weaker dollar, despite yields remaining mostly unchanged. The gains in the US have helped the Asian markets mostly progress today, as the Yuan strengthens again, spurred by further optimism over the Chinese economic outlook. The Nasdaq 100 futures are not much changed though right now, but still pricing a slightly higher opening for later on, currently at around 16,035
