Nasdaq 100 leads US gains as Dow Jones and S+P 500 set new records

The Dow Jones and the S+P 500 both set new all time highs yesterday, but it was the Nasdaq 100 that performed best of all in percentage terms by the close. The index was led higher by gains in NVIDIA, which put on nearly 4% on the session. The Nasdaq 100 came close to the 20k level yesterday for the first time since breaking back below that level on July 17. The index also surpassed the previous attempt to reach that level back on August 22. However, and despite coming very close, it was not able to vault that 20k level, stalling at 19,984. The index later closed 92 points to the better, at 19,944. Overnight , despite gains across the Chinese markets today, the Nasdaq futures are slightly lower, currently indicating a reopening at around 19,915
