Nasdaq 100 futures step back further into the red

As noted here earlier this morning, the Nasdaq 100 was the best performing major US stock market index yesterday, when it closed 1.30% higher, at 18,660. However, right now this morning the Nasdaq 100 futures are in the red and currently indicating a lower opening for this afternoon. Now of course that might change, but as things currently stand the tech index is headed for a lower opening later on. In fact the Dow Jones futures have just now taken a shunt lower as this update is being typed. That comes as the DAX now falls below 18,400 and gives back more of its earlier gains to 18,490. Hence the DAX is now lower on the day, as it closed yesterday at 18,443. So, the Nasdaq 100 future is close to session lows right now, currently indicating a reopening around 18,590
