Yesterday the Nasdaq 100 closed near its best levels of the day. Earlier the index had opened modestly higher, at 21,674 (21,658 the previous close) and hit a high at 21,776, before closing almost on that high, at 21,774. Of course the main event for the tech sector and the Nasdaq was surely the earnings numbers from Amazon (AMZN). Well, those arrived just as the closing bell rang. Those results were rather mixed. EPS was way higher, but revenue only just beat estimates and Q1 2025 revenue has been revised lower, by somewhere between 3 and 7 billion. The Amazon share price fell by around 3% in the grey market following that news.That said the Nasdaq 100 futures have not taken much of a hit as things currently stand. Of course today is mostly about the US monthly jobs report and there will be more to add on that later this morning. There is nothing of note due out on the US earnings front and so that will not be a focus later. The Nasdaq 100 is currently priced to reopen around 21,750
