Nasdaq 100 futures in the red this morning as Tesla awaits tonight

Once again yesterday the Nasdaq 100 was the only major US stock market index to close in the green last night. The index closed just 22 points higher, at 20,383. However, the index futures are in the red this morning, led lower it seems by losses in the Dow Jones futures. No matter where the Nasdaq 100 ends the session this evening, the next big earnings event could have a big impact after the closing bell. That is because at 8.10pm GMT the seventh biggest Nasdaq component, Tesla is due to release their Q3 results. The markets expect Q3 revenue of $25.34 billion and an EPS of $0.58. However, with European automakers under pressure again today (see the results from Volvo this morning- bad) and continued dominance of Chinese competitors, it will be interesting to see if Tesla can beat the market this evening, or not. Meantime the Nasdaq 100 futures are just now pricing the opening at 20,345
