Nasdaq 100 futures in the red this morning after Google and AMD underwhelm

Yesterday the tech sector and the Nasdaq 100 was the best performing area of the US stock markets. The Nasdaq 100 gained 1.26% by the close, compared to a gain of 0.72% for the S+P 500 and just 0.30% for the Dow Jones. The Nasdaq 100 reopened modestly higher,  at 21,318. The index had closed on Monday at 21,297. The subsequent session high was set at 21,582 and the index later closed 269 points higher, at 21,566. However, just after the closing bell we had Q4 earnings reports from Alphabet (GOOGL) and AMD (AMD) and whilst both sets of earnings data were pretty much in line with forecasts, nothing really blew it out of the park. So, the Nasdaq 100 futures are lower this morning, but then again so are all the other US indexes. However, in percentage terms the Nasdaq is leading the way right now. The index is currently priced to reopen around 21,430
