On Friday the Nasdaq 100 was narrowly the best performing major US stock market index. The Nasdaq 100 gained 1.17% by the close, compared to 1.15% for the S+P 500 and 1.14% for the Dow Jones. However, and despite getting a boost from Powell, the index did not break any new ground and once again remained camped well below the high seen earlier in the week, at 19,938. The index topped out at 19,818 on Friday and then dropped back to below 19,550 after the European close. The rebound from that low saw it push higher into the US close, where it later ended the week at 19,720. The Nasdaq 100 futures had been languishing below that closing level earlier today, but just recently the index future is now pricing a higher opening for later today, currently at around 19,765
