Nasdaq 100 futures edge higher following a slightly lower US close
Yesterday the US stock markets rather underwhelmed to be honest, but then it was a generally tight and quiet start to the week. The Nasdaq 100 remained in the red until that close, as it seemed to consolidate the gains seen at the back end of last week. The index closed 46 points lower, at 15,482. There was probably an element of profit-taking ahead of the US CPI report later today (1.30pm GMT). The fact that US yields did not fall back also played a role in holding back the index and those yields have remained pretty much as they were this morning. However, notwithstanding that, the Nasdaq 100 futures are a little higher this morning, currently indicating a reopening at around 15,505
