Nasdaq 100 fails to close the week above 16k

On Friday the Nasdaq 100 reopened at 15,974. The index was closed the day before for the Thanks Giving holidays. It had reached a new 2023 high on Wednesday, at 16,119 and then fallen back, but still just managed to set a daily close above 16k, when ending the session at 16,001.The high seen on Friday, just after the opening was set at 16,007. Of course it was a very much curtailed session on Friday anyway, with an early closing surely dampening demand ahead of the weekend. Nevertheless, the index did not manage to set a weekly close above 16k, when ending the session at 15,982. Overnight the Nasdaq 100 futures have fallen back, as Asian markets are all red this morning, led by losses in China, following reports of declining corporate profits. The Nasdaq 100 futures are just now pricing a reopening at around 15,910
