Nasdaq 100 braced for more downside later today? Check out the futures this morning

As noted here yesterday morning, at one point the slide in the Nasdaq 100 futures led to them price the opening below 20,650. That was more than 1100 points below where the index had closed on Friday, at 21,774. Well, the index did not actually open that low. It kicked off the session at exactly 21k, as was covered in an update here at the time. The low seen in live trade was set at 20,974 and the rebound that followed saw it recover to 21,292. The subsequent close was set at 21,127- a loss of 646 points on the day. Given the news that shook the index and the revelations from DeepSeek, it could have been worse perhaps? The stocks that got really hammered within the index were of course NVIDIA, Broadcom and Arm Holdings, and to a lesser degree, AMD and ASML. Overnight the Nasdaq 100 futures have made some modest progress during the Asian session and priced the opening earlier on to as high as 21,225. However, not quite right now though and it looks like being a very uncertain start to live trading later on. It would seem wrong to dismiss the news that sent the index tumbling yesterday as just a one-day wonder
