A mixed start to the new month and quarter for US stocks -check out the Dow Jones futures

Yesterday the Dow Jones was in the red from the very get go. That is because the US ISM data sent US yields jumping higher and that sent the Dow Jones immediately lower after it had earlier rejected a higher opening. The index fell back to 39,491. It later closed at 39,566, with a loss of 240 points on the day. That lower closes was in contrast to very modest gains in the Nasdaq 100, as the noted rotation between the two played all the way to the close. The Dow Jones futures prior to the opening had earlier priced the prospect of the index perhaps reaching 40k for the first time ever. Well, that ISM data saw to it, that did not happen and so far today those futures are pricing a lower opening for later on too. Right now that is at around 39,420
